Access to proper sanitation is a cornerstone of human dignity and health, yet many impoverished communities in Sri Lanka lack basic toilet facilities, forcing families to resort to open defecation or unsafe, makeshift solutions. Our charity’s Building Toilets for the Needy campaign is committed to constructing safe, hygienic, and durable toilets in rural and underserved areas, ensuring that every individual can access sanitation with privacy and respect.

The significance of this campaign lies in its profound impact on the well-being and social fabric of Sri Lanka’s most vulnerable communities. Without proper toilets, families face heightened risks of waterborne diseases, which can devastate already fragile health and livelihoods in impoverished areas. Women and girls, in particular, suffer from the lack of private facilities, facing safety concerns and loss of dignity, often limiting their participation in education or community activities.
